Sacred Portals Spirit Doll

{This doll was offered as a fundraiser for Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.}

This doll is a prayer from the Ancestors for the birth of a world in which all beings live free from oppression. She came through a portal of immense grief, rage, and love, and she holds this medicine within her.

I crafted this doll as mothers in Gaza cried over the broken bodies of their children and as children, alone and covered in dust and blood, cried out for their families. I crafted this doll as Palestinian men worked ceaselessly to pull survivors from the rubble.

The spirit who came forth to offer support during this time of immense pain, grief, and rage is strong, loving, and nurturing. She is also a steadfast protector. She is here to help you open the pathway to your Truth, to see your place in the web of existence. She is the Wise Mother, who knows there is much work to be done: we must fight to create a world in which all are free.

When you tire and feel that you cannot bear to hold the immense grief, to see the painful images on your screen, to hear the cries of those who are suffering, she stands beside you and whispers gently into your ear, “Open your eyes.” She reminds you that to bear witness is an honor and you must not look away.

This spirit doll is both a doorway to the mysteries and a companion who walks beside you, supporting you as you seek your Truth. She carries the energy of the Divine Mother (the Empress in the Tarot), encouraging you to embrace your innate creativity, trust your intuition, and listen to the wisdom of your ancestors, so that you may fully embody your gifts. Her wisdom is grounding, healing, and nurturing.

She holds medicine for strong boundaries, protection, standing strong in the face of oppression, shedding that which no longer serves, growth, healing, ancestral wisdom, and spiritual connection.

Her medicine bundle contains: mugwort, rose, yarrow, hawthorn berries, elder flowers, and a salmon bone. Her portal/symbols are woven with tussah silk, recycled sari silk, merino wool, and bamboo.
